This is the online home of a book-in-process, tentatively titled Filled With Good. It’s a book for people who need or want to lose weight and/or get healthy, but are discouraged about their prospects for any kind of lasting success.
The title comes from Psalm 107:9, which says “…He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” A core premise of the book is this:
It is about weight loss, but it’s also about much more. It’s about the things that rob us of life while we’re still living: achy joints, and lack of energy, and foggy brain. Discouragement and guilt about how helpless we feel to make permanent, meaningful changes.
This book will provide the encouragement and guidance each reader needs to identify his/her own obstacles to change, and the tools to create a personalized plan to get and stay healthy.
The core of the book uses the story of the Israelites’ journey out of Egypt to the Promised Land as a source of topics and inspiration for our own journey toward freedom and health. Comparing our story with Israel’s history will help us understand our own hearts better, understand God’s heart better, and give us hope.
